Clinical Practice Committee Report

The Clinical Practice Committee is working on a number of projects. Here are some highlights:

• Chris Curtis and Siby Sebastian have teamed up with colleagues at the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Wadsworth Center- NY State Department of Health and CDC Genetic Testing Reference Materials Coordination Program (GeTRM) to develop a concerted effort to characterize cell line based reference materials for molecular oncology.
  
  
• Fernanda Sabato and Michelle Dolon with advice from Shuji Ogino are developing a database for standard nomenclature for clinically relevant mutations. This would be a resource for AMP members to readily incorporate correct nomenclature in their clinical reports. Watch the AMP website for the first installment!
  
  
• Neal Lindeman and Federico Monzon continue to represent AMP in multi-organizational efforts to create practice guidelines for lung and colorectal carcinoma testing.
