Cooperating Society of the American Board of Pathology

In November 2013, AMP was approved by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) Trustees as a new Cooperating Society of the ABP. Other Cooperating Societies include: ACLPS, AMA Pathology Section Council, ASC, ASCP, ASIP, ADASP, APC, CAP, and the USCAP. Refer to the ABP Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Booklet of Information for the most up to date information on MOC. It is publicly available at the ABP website: www.abpath.org.

American Board of Pathology and American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics
Requirements: MD and certification by ABP or ABMGG
Exam: Molecular Genetic Pathology
Frequency: Every 2 years

American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics
Requirements: MD or PhD and completion of 2 year training program
Exam: Clinical Molecular Geneticist
Frequency: Every 2 years

American Board of Clinical Chemistry
Requirements: Certification by ABCC;ABMM;ABMLI;ABP;ABB or ABHI
Exam: Molecular Diagnostics
Frequency: Semi-Annually
