Membership Categories and Annual Dues Rates

 

AMP 2010 Membership Dues

Membership dues are paid annually and cover the calendar year.

 

Regular Members
MD, PhD, or equivalent:
$190 per year


BS, MS, MT or equivalent:
Non-Profit Institution
$105 per year 

For Profit Company
$190 per year

 

Regular Members are individuals interested in the educational, medical, scientific, economic, and/or regulatory aspects of molecular diagnostics, including but not limited to pathologists, clinical laboratory scientists, technologists, clinicians and other health care personnel, government employees, especially those involved in regulation of the field, and professionals in the in vitro diagnostics industry. Regular members are eligible to vote, to hold elected office, and to serve on AMP committees.

Associate Members:
(Students, Fellows, Residents)
$80 per year

 

Associate Membership is open to students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents at a reduced rate. Associate membership carries all the benefits of full membership except holding elected office and voting rights in AMP elections. Associate members are eligible to be considered for a Junior Member position on the committees. Candidates for associate membership must include communication from their Program Director certifying the applicant's trainee status.


Membership for Applicants in HINARI-Eligible Countries
The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) offers a special discount annual dues rate of $25.00/year to individuals that reside and work in developing countries as categorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) HINARI list. (View the HINARI List to see if you qualify for this membership rate) HINARI-Eligible Membership includeso Online-only access to The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, 50% discount off the AMP Regular-Member rate to attend the AMP Annual Meeting & Exhibits.

 

Emeritus Members:
(Retired Regular Members)
$25 per year


Emeritus Membership is open to Regular Members who are no longer receiving either full or part-time salary from an institution, company or organization.  Candidates for this category must have been a Regular AMP member for at least the five consecutive years immediately preceding application for Emeritus status.  Emeritus membership carries all the benefits of full membership except the ability to run for elected office or vote in Society elections.

1.  AMP reserves the right to activate or inactivate memberships, in accordance with AMP Bylaws and AMP Operating Procedures.

 

2.  Please be advised that .04% of the dues paid during 2009 were related to lobbying expenditures and are non-deductible pursuant to Internal Revenue Service Code section 162 (e)(1).  Each January, we will post the amount related to lobbying expenditures for the previous year.  Please consult your tax advisor regarding your individual reporting requirements
